Background of the Study

Apart from teaching and community service, universities emphasize research as one of their main duties as institutions of higher learning. A institution that fails to produce remarkable research that can be used to move society ahead socioeconomically and technologically is no longer relevant. As a result, it is critical that enough attention be paid to the intellectual production originating from ivory towers in order to broaden the frontiers of knowledge and send a constructive message to society. Access to information is (or may be) very easy, affordable, ubiquitous, and democratic nowadays, because to the vast growth of computers, networks, and networked information. As a result, academics are continually developing new information to tackle social, political, economic, and technical challenges, particularly in applied/academic research, which serves to increase postgraduate student academic knowledge and quality of life (Okoroma, 2018).

Exceptionally, achieving a balance may be difficult and time-consuming for many postgraduate students. This is due to their habit of mixing job and study in order to pay their bills in the face of rising living costs and tuition fees.

As a result, juggling studies and job is necessary to satisfy the demands of such a high degree of education. According to Maxwell (2018), a postgraduate is a student who has finished an undergraduate degree-level course at a college or university and is continuing their education at a higher level. A postgraduate student is someone who is engaged in a postgraduate program that needs an undergraduate degree as part of the admissions criteria, such as a master's or PhD program. Some of these students have recently finished their service year and are supported by their parents, while others are middle-class, married, and established, but wish to further their education. Working-class students, regardless of their socioeconomic situation, encounter difficulties juggling job, family, and studies, making it difficult to satisfy academic research obligations. Because they seldom have time to visit their university libraries, they rely on online repositories. According to Torty (2021), a repository is a contemporary notion that captures and makes available to users through digitizing scholar-based research output and other important information. An academic repository is a cloud-based system that allows researchers, students, and other academic staff members to save their data.

Notably, as the financial situation at universities and libraries in third-world countries such as Nigeria deteriorates, research firms have taken advantage of these loopholes to present a possible solution to the daring need of postgraduate students who are always on the lookout for contemporary literature to support their studies, one of which is Dataprojectngng.com. Dataprojectng is an online academic resource portal for all digital publications, according to Everest (2021). Dataprojectng platform is developed to serve as a simplified platform for scientific and professional information that can be downloaded in standard file formats and viewed on a variety of electronic devices for students and scholars. It provides professional writing services, research guides, and allows users to read, download, copy, share, print, search, or link to the complete texts of evidence-based materials as a commercial repository.

Bizzarely, despite the various advantages that an online repository provides, most postgraduate students are unfamiliar with Dataprojectng as an online repository, as a result of which they seldom use her many services, according to Everest (2021). Other factors that may influence postgraduate students' use of Dataprojectngng.com. include a lack of awareness of its existence, a lack of time to surf the web due to work-school stress, and the fact that some institutional repositories are flooded with out-of-date materials, according to Charles (2021). As a result, students must take use of online repositories in order to broaden their horizons on current concerns, ensuring great academic accomplishment.

1.2 Statement of the problem

The challenge for postgraduate students who work and study has been to build techniques for adjusting to a work-life balance by trying to manage stress, uncertainty, crises, interpersonal interactions, academic assignments, and cultural engagements into the workplace. As a result, establishing a balance between employment commitments, family obligations, and academic obligations has become more vital, prompting postgraduate students to seek out online repositories and research hubs to relieve stress and aid in the completion of their thesis. Greater access to research outputs, user-friendly services, no need for passwords or other forms of authentication, and greater access to empirical studies research findings are all factors that, according to Everest (2021), could increase postgraduate students' use and patronage of commercial research hubs.

Despite the fact that there have been multiple studies on the use of institutional repositories by tertiary students, none have focused on private research hubs/repositories, prompting the researcher to perform this study on an assessment of the usage of Dataprojectng platform among Nigerian post-graduate students.

1.3  Objective of the study

The broad goal  of this study is to present an assessment of the utilization of Dataprojectng platform among post-graduate students in Nigeria. Specifically, Specifically, the study seeks to achieve these objectives:

  1. To determine whether work-school conflict compels Postgraduate student utilization of online repositories.
  2. To ascertain whether need for contemporary empirical studies compels Postgraduate student utilization of  commercial research hubs.
  3. To investigate if Job stress and personal engagement enhances Postgraduate student utilization of Dataprojectng platform.
  4. To examine the extent at which Postgraduate student utilizes material in Dataprojectng platform.

1.4  Research Hypothesis

HO: Job stress and personal engagement does not enhances Postgraduate student utilization of Dataprojectng platform.

HO: The extent at which Postgraduate student utilizes material in Dataprojectng platform is low.
